Warner Bros studios fire: Huge blaze at film set near where Harry Potter filmed

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at the Warner Bros studios after the set was engulfed by flames.

Fifteen fire engines are currently at the scene after crews were called to the incident just before 11.30pm last night.

People in the area told the Watford Observer they woke up to a "very strong smell of smoke" in the night.

There is still a lot of smoke in the area this morning, reports say.

Photos posted on social media show clouds of smoke filling the sky.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Hertfordshire County Council told Mirror Online: "Hertfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden in Hertfordshire at 11.29pm on Wednesday 10 July.

"Fifteen fire engines, plus support vehicles, are currently in attendance at the scene and crews are tackling a fire in one of the stages there.

"The set was not being used at the time of the fire. There are no injuries."

The incident is ongoing.

No cause for the fire has been given yet.

All eight Harry Potter movies were filmed at the studios.

Other films made at the studio's 80-hectare Leavesden complex include Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Sweeney Todd and The Dark Knight.

Mirror Online contacted the Warner Bros studios for comment.
