This week is set to end wet and cloudy, as plenty of rain if forecast.
According to the Met Office, temperatures will remain around 7C to 9C but despite feeling warming than of late, it will also be wetter. Cloud will bring showery rain across the region on Thursday, December 22.
It will then turn dry overnight before a band of rain sweeps north through the day and the evening on Friday. Into the Christmas weekend a little snow could be possible on the highest ground, forecasters report.

"Monday will see sunny breaks and some light showers moving in from the west. A much cooler day than of late."
