Warmer weather with patches of rain forecast for Liverpool

This week is set to end wet and cloudy, as plenty of rain if forecast.

According to the Met Office, temperatures will remain around 7C to 9C but despite feeling warming than of late, it will also be wetter. Cloud will bring showery rain across the region on Thursday, December 22.

It will then turn dry overnight before a band of rain sweeps north through the day and the evening on Friday. Into the Christmas weekend a little snow could be possible on the highest ground, forecasters report.

However it will be changeable for Christmas, with showers and longer periods of rain interspersed by sunny spells. It may also be breezy at times though temperatures remain mild.

The BBC outlook reads: "Saturday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with a few light showers pushing in from the southwest. Sunday will continue to be breezy with heavy showers pushing in from the northwest, merging into long rain spells at times.

"Monday will see sunny breaks and some light showers moving in from the west. A much cooler day than of late."
