Hundreds of Lanarkshire residents have been helped by the Scottish Government’s Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.
Warmer Homes Scotland, the government’s national fuel poverty scheme, launched in 2015.
Since then it has helped hundreds of people save an average of £233 off of their energy bills.
The scheme identifies where energy improvements can be made in the home and help arrange for this to be done, offering new heating systems - such as renewable heating technologies - in homes across Scotland.
All of the work delivered through the scheme is carried out by registered and accredited local sub-contractors, with completed work independently checked to guarantee that standards are met.
Ross Armstrong of Warmworks Scotland, the managing agents of Warmer Homes Scotland, was delighted to hear the scheme had helped 450 people in the Rutherglen and Cambuslang area.
That saw those households save £233 on their fuel bills thanks to the improvements made under the scheme.
MSP for the area, Clare Haughey, also welcomed the impact of a scheme.
She told Lanarkshire Live : “ I would encourage constituents to check if they are eligible to receive help under the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.
"The improvements it offers could make a real difference this winter and in the years to come.”
