Warehouse fire causes 'loud explosion noises like gunfire'

A Kingswood warehouse fire caused "loud explosion noises" last night.

Firefighters were called to a building on Moravian Road at 9.36pm yesterday (November 20).

One woman in the area posted on Twitter at 9.40pm: "Definitely can hear loud explosion noises in Kingswood, not fireworks, genuinely sounds like gunfire."

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed crews from Kingswood, Temple, Hicks Gate attended Moravian Road.

She said: "On arrival, firefighters found a fire in the warehouse involving a van.

"Firefighters used three breathing apparatus for safety, and two 45mm jets to extinguish the fire, and a thermal imaging camera to locate hotspots.
