Ward at Perth hospital closed due to COVID-19

A ward at a Perth hospital has been closed because of the coronavirus.

NHS Tayside has confirmed the Garry Ward at Murray Royal Hospital is now longer open to new patients.

Over 50 people have died in the NHS Tayside region because of COVID-19

A spokesperson for the health board described this as a "precautionary measure" and added "all appropriate infection prevention and control measures have been put in place".

COVID-19 has already forced the closure of the Tummel Ward at Murray Royal, as well as the Tay Ward and Perth Royal Infirmary,
