BATHINDA: Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal indulged into a war of words and had heated exchanges at the gate of the Parliament on Wednesday over contentious farm laws.
The war of words erupted when Harsimrat Badal was holding protest against farm laws at the gate and Ravneet Bittu was entering the Parliament.
Bittu on seeing Harsimrat asked her not to enact drama as she is party to passage of these laws.
She was union cabinet minister when the bills were brought in Parliament and passed.
Harsimrat countered it saying she had resigned before the passage of the bills.
Interrupting her, Bittu stated that she was lying and she is the biggest enemy of farmers and now enacting drama.
"Where is SAD president Sukhbnir Singh Badal now as he has not been seen for the last five days," he said.
"You are the agent of BJP where was your president (Sonia Gandhi) when the bills were passed," said Harsimrat.
She started raising slogans saying "kale kannon vapas lao" (black laws should be repealed) and kept on calling Bittu as the agent of BJP.
After the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha had issued Peoples’ Whip on July 17 asking MPOs to oppose the farm laws, the MPs from Congress and SAD apart from AAP are holding protests against farm laws.
