Thailand need only a draw to confirm their place in the semi-finals of the Asean Hyundai Cup 2026 as they take on Myanmar in the last match of Group B at Rajamangala National Stadium on Saturday night.
The seven‑time champions top the group standings with nine points from three matches while Myanmar are third on six.
A point today will be enough for Anthony Hudson's men to qualify as group winners. Malaysia, second in the group with six points, will face third-placed the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur. Both matches kick off at 8pm.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference yesterday, Hudson said he's pleased with the team's performance in the tournament so far and believes his players have had enough rest after a tough match against the Philippines earlier in the week.
"This team is in a good place. As a group, the team is shining, working very well as a group together. The players have had some rest after our last game. We have recovered well and we're 100 percent focused on the game tomorrow [today]," said the English coach.
While insisting that his team will try to get the right result against Myanmar, Hudson admitted rotation will be necessary to keep the players in the best possible shape for upcoming matches.
"It is very important to manage playing time in a tournament like this so the players don't pick up unnecessary injuries especially in this pre-season period. It is something that I discuss with the staff and we want to make sure we get the right result tomorrow and also make sure we have the full squad available and qualify for the next round where every player is ready for the semi-final game.
"We will rotate players and will try to use every player in the squad. The important thing is that we must focus on the game tomorrow and do not look too far ahead or think about the semi-finals because we're still playing in the group stage. We have to respect our opponents because Myanmar are a strong team and we will play our best tomorrow," he added.
Defender Chaiyaphon Otton said, "We are very happy and pleased that the team has win three games in a row. We are now looking forward to tomorrow's match with Myanmar. We will try to win and become the winners of the group."
The Thailand v Myanmar game will kick off at 8pm and will be broadcast live on TrueVisions.
