More evidence is emerging of what happened when towns around Kyiv were under Russian occupation after heavy bombardment. Ukraine's president is warning that there are more shocking revelations to come. The Ukrainian president is warning that the deaths in Bucha could be only the beginning and says he has intelligence that even more civilians have been killed in places like nearby Borodyanka.
Bucha and Borodyanka are both satellite towns around Kyiv which were left destroyed by the Russian invasion. Their residents are traumatised. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called the Western reaction to the revelations of atrocities in Bucha "hysteria".
Antonio Guterres has called for an independent investigation of all incidents in Ukraine. The Secretary General of the United Nations spoke of deep shock at the eyewitness testimony of violence perpetrated by Russian troops.
