'Wanted' Meadows drug dealer found with crack cocaine and heroin

A Nottingham drug dealer who was found with crack cocaine and heroin will serve time in prison after being wanted by police.

Andrew Bell of the Beauvale Road area in The Meadows had been arrested in June 2017 after police raided his home and found large quantities of class A and B drugs.

Officers searched Bell's home and uncovered a shoe box containing a large amount of cannabis wrapped in individual bags along with a plastic bag full of wraps of heroin.

They also seized £2,320 in cash and located scales which had remains of white powder on top alongside a razor blade which was believed to have been used to 'cut' illicit substances.

The 30-year-old was charged in December 2018 following enquiries and pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis with a trial date set for June 2021.

He then failed to appear at court and was circulated as wanted by police.

He was then arrested by the Meadows Operation Reacher team in November 2020 where he was found with up to 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.

Bell pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine for and changed his plea to guilty in relation to the 2017 drugs warrant.

He was remanded in custody and sentenced on January 14 to five-and-a-half years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Paul Ferguson said: "We had been investigating Bell and his activities for some time and are pleased that we have now taken this substantial drug dealer out of the chain.

"We actively seek out drugs activity in our area and undertake a number of covert and overt methods in order to uncover anyone who may be involved in such criminality.

“Drug supply and production is a despicable act. It fuels all manner of crimes and preys on vulnerable people in our area and we won't tolerate it on our doorstep.

"We welcome information from members of the public, if anyone has concerns about drug offences operating in their area, please get in touch with us on 101."
