This is the dramatic moment a wanted man was pinned to the ground by four police officers in the city centre.
The thug was arrested outside McDonald’s, on Lord Street, near Church Street, this afternoon, for allegedly assaulting an emergency worker, in August.
Merseyside Police has been trying to track down the man for the alleged assault and on two counts of being drunk and disorderly, last month.
He had previously resisted an arrest for these offences, until he was found in the city centre today.
A crowd of people gathered round to witness the moment he was pinned to the ground by police officers today, before being taken away in a police car.
The man remains in custody following the incident.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "The man arrested on Church Street was wanted on warrant for assaulting an emergency worker, resisting arrest and two counts of being drunk and disorderly in relation to incidents which took place in August.
