
A MAN, 29, wanted by police for a series of serious domestic violence offences has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman's home at Raymond Terrace in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Raymond Dahlstrom appeared in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday charged with a string of offences, including intimidation, contravening an apprehended violence order, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, damaging property, driving while disqualified, having custody of stolen goods and two counts of stealing a motor vehicle.
He did not enter any pleas or apply for bail and the matter was adjourned until Tuesday.
Police say they were called to Truscott Street at Raymond Terrace about 5.30am on Sunday after reports a man was attempting to break into a home.
Police said, following inquiries, they established the man was Dahlstrom, who was wanted on four outstanding arrest warrants for domestic violence and firearm offences as well as a revocation of parole warrant.
By the time police arrived on scene, Dahlstrom had allegedly gained access to the home, police said.
A woman, 26, who lived at the property and is known to Dahlstrom, was also inside the home.
After seeing police, Dahlstrom allegedly attempted to flee through a roof cavity but was grabbed by police officers.
He was later charged and refused bail by police.
