Wanted man detained in Aldi after 'threatening staff with needle'

A man who was wanted on recall to prison was arrested in Aldi for allegedly threatening staff with a needle.

The man was arrested at Aldi in Bankside, Warrington on Saturday, for an allegation of theft and threats towards staff with a needle, Cheshire Police said.

In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for Warrington Police said the threats were a breach of the man's criminal behaviour order.

This order includes not to cause harassment, alarm or distress to anyone in Cheshire, Cheshire Live reports.

The man was also wanted on a recall to prison, police said.

A resident who commented on the Warrington Police Facebook post said he was in the shop at the time.

He said: "I was in the store with my son at the time. The Aldi staff did a great job of detaining him till the police came."
