CHON BURI: Police arrested four Chinese nationals wanted for financial crimes during coordinated raids on luxury housing estates in Bang Lamung.
Immigration Police and Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) officers on Saturday detained the three male suspects Zhang Shuai, 34, Xiao Jian, 36, Yang Yue, 34, and one female suspect Ge Ning, 34, at residences in tambon Huai Yai and Takhian Tia.
All four were found to be overstaying after their permission to remain had been revoked.
CIB officers said the suspects are wanted in China over an alleged illegal lending network involving more than 40 victims, with interest rates exceeding 30% per month. The group is also accused of using intimidation, detention and assault against defaulters.
The four were taken into custody while deportation procedures are underway, with extradition expected to follow for prosecution in China.
