Wanted fugitive should not be approached warn police

Police today issued a photograph of a fugitive accused of a knife crime but warned the public to keep their distance.

Carl Clarke, originally from Wavertree, was charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Police said the charge is "in relation to an incident in Liverpool city centre" on January 12 last year.

A warrant is out for the arrest of the 25-year-old who was due to appear in court in December, 2019 but failed to appear.

Police say they want the public's help to trace Clarke but issued this warning.

A spokesman said: "Members of the public are advised not to approach Clarke but to ring 999 if they see him."

Clarke is described as a white male, 5ft 7in tall, of proportionate build, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

He has links to the Wavertree and wider Liverpool areas.

Anyone who knows of Clarke’s whereabouts is asked to DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
