Want to work at Starbucks? Jobs available in Newcastle, MetroCentre, Durham and Sunderland

If you're calm under pressure and capable of 'legendary' customer service you could consider applying to work for Starbucks.

The American coffee chain's recruitment site shows it is hiring staff throughout the North East, with roles available in Newcastle, Sunderland , Durham, County Durham and the MetroCentre.

Starbucks is hiring baristas - aka the staff who make and serve the coffee - as well as supervisors.

Don't be put off if you don't know how to work a coffee machine or prepare a perfect flat white, as the barista roles state that previous experience is not required. As long as you're punctual, presentable and flexible, you'll have a chance.

Baristas must be able to deliver "legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer", Starbucks says.

Barista staff are also required to maintain a calm manner, as busy rushes are common at Starbucks as customers queue up to get their caffeine kick. They must also maintain a clean workspace and be able to adhere to recipe and presentation standards.

More experienced candidates can apply for supervisor roles, which require a background in managing people and money, as well as interacting with customers and catering for their needs.

Starbucks has jobs available in Eldon Square, Newcastle; Neville Street, Newcastle; Jesmond, Newcastle; Kingston Park, Newcastle; Whitley Road Retail Park, Benton; Metrocentre, Gateshead, Metroasis (near MetroCentre), Gateshead; The Bridges, Sunderland; Framwellgate, Durham; and Dalton Park, Murton, County Durham.
