Novak Djokovic has revealed that he wants to continue playing tennis into his 40s and follow in the footsteps of sporting legends that have done similar.
The Serb name-checked the likes of LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Tom Brady, who have all continued their playing careers in their respective sports as quadragenarians.
Djokovic, 38, reached the last four of every Grand Slam this year, as he hunts down a record 25th major title.
He is currently tied with Margaret Court for having the record number of Grand Slam titles.
He has been without one since the 2023 US Open, where he was 36.
Since then, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have dominated the scene, winning two majors each this year.
Djokovic was beaten by Sinner at the French Open and Wimbledon, and defeated by Alcaraz in New York.
The Serb is taking part in the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Riyadh, and was asked once more about a potential retirement.
"Longevity is one of my biggest motivations,” he declared.
"I really want to see how far I can go. If you see across all the global sports, LeBron James is still going strong, he is 40. Cristiano Ronaldo [and] Tom Brady played until [they were] 40-something years old, it is unbelievable. They are inspiring me.
"In the next couple of years tennis is a sport that can be greatly transformed and I want to be part of that change.
"I want to be playing when we rejuvenate our sport and set the new platform that is going to go on for decades to come."
