Want to know what it's like to live in America's coolest city?

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live in one of America’s coolest cities, then this event is for you.

Portland, Oregon, is recognised as one of the US’s hippest and most progressive destinations. A hub of creativity and culture that nurtures individuality; the city's slogan actually reads, "stay weird".

Tomorrow night, You Can, In Portland has collaborated with Evening Standard Lifestyle for a night dedicated to uncovering Oregon’s largest city.

Amira Hashish, Head of Digital Features at the Evening Standard, will interview a panel of Portland natives all about their hometown. She will explore what life is like for those living in the city and tap into the creative culture, the opportunities and challenges presented by the city’s growth, and how visitors experience the varied expressions.

Joining her on the panel will be graphic designer Aaron Draplin, Carlos Metcalfe of Carlos the rollerblader fame, Emma Mcilroy, who founded Wildfang, Craft beer expert Lucy Burningham and DJ, and member of The Dandy Warhols, Zia McCabe.

As part of its ongoing drive to uncover the best travel destinations across the world, the ES lifestyle team will be at hand to chat about tips for city breaks and help spark an idea for your next adventure following the talk.

Taking place on May 4 at 7pm in East London’s The Old Truman Brewery, tickets are free of charge but need to be reserved.

Don't miss it.
