Want a Super Bowl ring? Just get cut by the Patriots three times in the same season

Kenjon Barner played a total of five games for the New England Patriots. He registered 19 carries for 71 yards and that’s about it. He was only on the team between October and November. He was cut three times — that’s not a rarity for the Patriots as they cut players and bring them back on to the team pretty often. He also now has a Super Bowl ring.

I guess that makes him a Super Bowl champion in back to back years — Barner was on Philadelphia when they defeated the New England in Super Bowl LII. Barner didn’t contribute to the Patriots playoff run, but sometimes it’s not about the end of the season. The Patriots essentially thanked Barner for his contributions earlier in the season. That apparently matters to a team like New England. At worst, it’s a feel-good story.
