Cunning robbers dug a massive tunnel in Co Kildare to try and steal from an ATM - but left empty handed.
The Ocean's Eleven-style heist was uncovered earlier this week on the Sallins Road in Naas when the cash machine was being removed to be replaced.
The tunnel, believed to be as long as 80ft, was uncovered along with tools that are believed to have been used by the wannabe bank robbers.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred at a business premises on the Sallins Road in Naas, Co. Kildare.
“The exact date of the incident is not known at this time.
“The scene has been technically and forensically examined.”
Ulster Bank are wrapping up operations in Ireland and were taking out their ATMs that were to be replaced with another ATM.

Councillor Bill Clear told KFM: “When they went in to take out the machine and put in a new one from another bank, they noticed the tunnel.
“It’s like something you’d see out of Ocean’s Eleven.”
It is not yet known how long the tunnel has been in the ground.
Ulster Bank were contacted for comment.
