Wanindu Hasaranga set to miss Sunrisers Hyderabad's first three IPL fixtures

NEW DELHI: All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is slated to miss at least the initial three matches of the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as he has been included in the Sri Lanka squad for a two-Test series versus Bangladesh starting on March 22.

Hasaranga, who has participated in four Tests for Sri Lanka, had previously declared his retirement from Test cricket in August of the prior year to concentrate on white-ball cricket.

However, the 26-year-old was recently named in Sri Lanka's 17-man squad alongside the uncapped spinner Nishan Peiris.

The first Test match is scheduled to take place in Sylhet from March 22 to 26, with the second encounter planned from March 30 to April 3 in Chattogram.

Hasaranga was signed by SRH at his base price of Rs 1.5 crore.

Considering the IPL schedule for the first two weeks, SRH is set to face Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23 in Kolkata. Following that, they will head to Hyderabad for a match against Mumbai Indians on March 27, and then travel to Ahmedabad for a clash with Gujarat Titans on March 31.

The availability of the right-arm spinner for SRH's home fixture against Chennai Super Kings on April 5 remains uncertain.
