Western Sydney Wanderers have offset the departure of club player of the year Bruce Kamau by signing Israel international striker Tomer Hemed on a one-season deal.
The 34-year-old Hemed arrives after scoring 11 goals in a 21-game stint with A-League rivals Wellington Phoenix.
"Tomer is an excellent forward and brings overseas experience at both a club and country level, as well as an understanding of the domestic football landscape that will greatly benefit the team," said Wanderers coach Carl Robinson.
"Tomer leads not only from the front third, but off the pitch, his professionalism is top class."
Wanderers confirmed 26-year-old Kamau had opted to leave for a first crack at playing overseas despite their efforts to keep him.
The Kenyan-born winger was coming off his best season, having scored 12 goals in 23 games.
"It's been an enjoyable journey over the last three seasons playing in front of the best members and fans in Australia," said Kamau.
