Wanderers duo spotted training at Bolton Arena after Lostock base shut due to Covid outbreak

Bolton Wanderers' training ground is currently shut owing to a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

A total of 14 players and four football staff, including manager Ian Evatt, have all tested positive for the illness and are self-isolating.

The League One club has taken the decision to close its Lostock training ground complex in light of the infection which has 'run through everybody like wildfire' according to Evatt.

Wanderers are understood to have only a handful of fit first team players who have not tested positive, are double vaccinated and are still able to train at present.

The club's training ground will reopen on Monday, December 27, with Wanderers poised to next be in action in League One against Burton Albion on Wednesday, December 29.

Wanderers have had to call off their two most recent fixtures, including last weekend's clash against Wycombe Wanderers and the Boxing Day encounter versus Morecambe, because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

But a couple of Wanderers players have still been training and keeping up their fitness levels ahead of the action resuming.

Attacker Elias Kachunga and defender Adam Senior, who both started for Bolton the last time they were in action earlier this month in a 1-0 loss on the road to Accrington Stanley.

And the duo were at Bolton Arena yesterday to keep up their fitness levels and used the track and gym facitlites.

Kachunga was pictured in his Wanderers training gear, while Senior was in Ashton United training kit, with who he spent time out on loan at earlier this campaign.
