Walthamstow stabbing: Man knifed to death and another rushed to hospital after street fight in Bromley Road

One man has died and another has been rushed to hospital after a double stabbing in Walthamstow.

Emergency services rushed to Bromley Road at 7.16pm on Thursday to reports of a fight and found two men with stab wounds.

One man, thought to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Officers are in the process of informing his next of kin.

"A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course."

Another victim, also believed to be in his 20s, was rushed to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and a police investigation has been launched.

Images from the scene showed a large cordon and multiple police vehicles.

What appeared to be a forensics office was scene within the cordon.

A nearby resident told the Standard: "I saw the forensics turn up and go over to the scene in there whites.

"There is loads of police on the scene and also police cars driving around the area."

Commenting on how the incident made them feel, they added: "It saddens me as I walk very close to the scene on a regular basis to take my kids to school nearby.

"It also seems to be a regular thing and a complete waste of life."
