Walter Smith joins Rangers TV for special appearance as legendary gaffer set to run rule over Steven Gerrard

Legendary Rangers manager Walter Smith will return to the Govan club for a special appearance on Rangers TV.

Kilmarnock travel to Glasgow to face Steven Gerrard's side on Saturday and as with all closed-door games in the Scottish Premiership, season ticket holders and pay-per-view customers will be able to watch live.

The Ibrox icon managed Rangers over two spells and he will be keeping a keen eye on current boss Gerrard as part of the club's broadcasting team this weekend.

Smith won 10 Scottish titles at the Light Blues, including seven of the club's Nine In A Row run in the 1990s.

He also scooped five Scottish Cups and six Scottish League Cups, as well as leading the club all the way to the UEFA Cup final in 2008, where they were defeated by Zenit St Petersburg.

Alongside Smith will be Emma Dodds and recurring pundits for closed-door coverage Neil McCann and Alex Rae.

Renowned commentator Clive Tyldesley continues his duties on the mic with youth coach Kevin Thomson alongside him.

Rangers will be hoping to bounce back from a 0-0 draw against Livingston last weekend.

They still top the table, six points clear of Glasgow rivals Celtic who have two games in hand.
