Walt Disney World cast member reveals the best time to visit the theme park

Walt Disney World holidays make for a pretty magical break, but pick the wrong time to go and you could find yourself facing seriously long queues and big crowds.

However, a former Disney cast member who worked at the theme park has revealed the best time to visit if you're hoping to avoid the masses.

Micaela Garber, who spent a summer working at the Orlando theme park, revealed that post-Christmas could be the best time to visit.

She told Insider : "If you're looking for reasonable crowds, temperatures, and prices, you should consider taking a trip to Disney World sometime in January.

"Especially the last two weeks in the month. At this point, the holidays are over and guests have already made their way back home for school, meaning you won't spend your days waiting in long lines.

"The entire month of September is also a great option, but be prepared for high temperatures in Orlando, and possibly lots of rain."

How to find cheap holidays in Orlando and visit the theme parks on a budget

Of course January and September aren't exactly ideal times if you're tied to the school holiday dates , but there are ways families could still enjoy smaller crowds and queues.

Micaela suggests that, if you're staying at one of the Disney hotels which offers Extra Magic Hours, make the most of these as it means the parks are a little less busy.

Oh, and she adds that if you're making the most of the late night hours on a weekend, this happens to be "the most beautiful time to see all of Magic Kingdom".

The good news is that if you are considering a trip to the Florida-based theme park, you won't necessarily need to break the bank to visit. We've got a handy guide on finding cheap Walt Disney World packages .

Or of course for something a little closer to home, there's always Disneyland Paris for a touch of magic that's a little more budget-friendly!
