Walmart pulls all e-cigarettes from shelves after eight deaths linked to vaping

US supermarket giant Walmart will axe e-cigarettes after a spate of vaping-related deaths.

The chain, which owns Asda in the UK, has reacted after Donald Trump said he will ban some flavoured e-cigarettes.

More than 450 reported cases of lung illnesses across 33 states have been linked with the use of these.

"We will complete our exit after selling through current inventory."

It is unclear if this call affects Asda.

"That's how the first lady got involved.

"She's got a son, together, that is a beautiful young man and she feels very, very strongly about it.

"People are going to watch what we're saying and parents are going be a lot tougher with respect to their children."

The modern e-cigarette design was patented in 2003 and its popularity soared soon afterwards.
