A teenage daredevil from Wallsend is back in the TV spotlight this week in a spin-off of his already successful show.
Danny Murphy, has had an amazing few years since shooting to online fame with his YouTube videos. The 16-year-old is deaf and won fans all over the world thanks to his humorous takes on life.
He then became a star of the small screen, delighting scores of youngsters with his CITV series Dare Master, with episodes seeing him do everything from doing 'extreme window cleaning' at Sage Gateshead to bungee jumping off Middlesbrough's famous Transporter Bridge.
Well now, Danny is back in action in new Dare Master series Dare Master @Home, this time doing some more low key, less white knuckle style challenges, with all of the action once again shot in the North East.
“This time round all the challenges can be done by kids at home and have a time limit which makes it more difficult," Danny, who stars alongside Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul in film The Parts You Lose, explained.
"Children from all over the North East joined me by video as they took part in some of the challenges. You’ll just have to wait and see who has to put a cream pie in their face!”
Dare Master @Home kicks off at 12.10pm on the CITV channel on Monday, August 3, with the ten-part series, shot entirely on location in Northumberland, by ITV SignPost Productions.
Its crew adhered to strict social distancing guidelines during filming and a designated coronavirus monitor was onsite to implement the restrictions.
Kenny Toal, Director of ITV SignPost Productions said: “We paused our productions back in March due to the pandemic, but were able to restart location filming in late June after the government approved industry-wide guidelines.
"Being able to restart productions was something we’d been working on for some time.
The safety of the cast and crew was our top priority and with the industry guidelines it meant we were able to provide a COVID-secure workplace for the production team.
"The success of our first production back on location means we know we can make a successful programme whilst observing social distancing and other controls to keep people safe.”
