Walking Dead actor Moses J. Moseley dies aged 31

The Walking Dead fans are in shock after it was announced actor Moses J. Moseley has died at the age of 31.

Moses played Mike, a pet zombie, in the hit telly horror show from 2012 to 2015, and died from a gunshot wound according to his family.

The actor, who was born in South Carolina before living in Georgia, studied law and did not plan to be an actor until he was approached to be in 2012's Joyful Noise, starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, where he had a part as a club goer, leading to bigger roles.

Moses went on to appear in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, HBO's Watchmen and 2016 film Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories.

He was also a writer, and published his own book of inspirational quotes and slogans.

On January 13 he wrote on Facebook: 'You're at your most powerful when you decide to feel good for no reason."

A missing persons report was filed when the actor disappeared and family hadn't heard from him since January 23.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ his death was a possible suicide.

Car security company OnStar tracked his vehicle to where his body was found that day.

Co-star Jeremy Palko said he was "an absolute kind and wonderful human being" and Addy Miller from the show said she was "so heartbroken to hear about the passing of this bright, kind soul".

Melissa Cowan also wrote that he was "truly one of a kind and a class act", and was "always nice, funny and had a smile to light any room".

The show's official Twitter account also wrote: "Our thoughts and prayers are with our #TWDFamily member Moses J. Moseley."

Moses talent agent, Avery Sisters Entertainment, also posted a video tribute to him saying: "With a heavy heart, we at Avery Sisters Entertainment offer our sincerest and deepest condolences to the family and friends of our actor, Moses J. Moseley. We are truly saddened.

"Moses was a phenomenal actor who has appeared in movies such as "The Walking Dead", "Queen of the South", and "American Soul", but MUCH more than that, he was an AMAZING person!

'For those who knew him, he was the kindest, sweetest, most generous person you would ever meet. We will miss you dearly!'"
