Walkers team with restaurants for new Taste Icons range and offer £5 off meals out

Now we can enjoy freedom a little more, and getting back out to restaurants to see friends and family is a big one, Walkers are doing their bit to help by giving customers £5 off their next meal out.

When you pick up a bag of the new Walkers Taste Icons crisps, which have been inspired by classic restaurant flavours, customers can get £5 off their food bill - at over 3,000 local restaurants across the UK.

What’s more, Walkers guarantees that with so many local restaurants to choose from, crisp lovers will never be more than five miles away from their favourite local where they can enjoy their discounted meal.

The voucher also means that savvy spenders choosing to only spend the minimum of £20 while dining can get whopping 25% off their food bill.

How good is that?

Your next meal out will now cost a little less thanks to promotional packs of Walkers Taste Icons range (Cultura RF)

The four new flavours, which are available from supermarkets now, include the fragrant Madras Curry from The Radhuni in Edinburgh, classic and crispy Fish and Chips from Yorkshire-based Wetherby Whaler, creamy Thai Green Curry with a hint of zingy spice from Mantra Thai Dining in Newcastle and flavoursome Chicken Burrito from Yucca in London.

To claim the discount and enjoy some serious savings on a local meal, all shoppers need to do is buy a pack, go to www.walkers.co.uk/local and select a participating local restaurant near them.

You will then receive a QR code voucher which they can enjoy in any of the restaurants and give back to their local. The promotion is on until 15th February 2022, and the discount is only valid on meals, sadly alcoholic drinks are not included, but soft ones are.

The new Walkers Taste Icons Madras Curry crisps are inspired by the popular curry dish served at award-winning, family-owned restaurant, The Radhuni, in Loanhead near Edinburgh. The crisps are packed with fragrant spice and authentic flavour, with hints of garlic, chilli, and ginger.

Crunchy and fresh, like crispy battered fish, and tangy, like chips doused in salt and vinegar, the Walkers Taste Icons Fish and Chips crisps are inspired by the British classic served at the family-owned Wetherby Whaler.

Influenced by the spicy and creamy coconut curry served at The Mantra restaurant in Newcastle, the Walkers Taste Icons Thai Green Curry crisps have hints of chilli, lemongrass and fresh coriander leaf.

The Walkers Taste Icons Chicken Burrito crisps are bursting with smoky paprika and cooling sour cream, much like in the Tex-Mex dish served at Yucca in Fulham, West London.

Walkers have launched the new Taste Icons range to celebrate and support local restaurants that have played a vital role in everyone’s lives over the past year during the pandemic.

Bags of Walkers Taste Icons start at just 85p for a single pack to £1 for a five bag multipack.

Are you eager to try out these new flavours from Walkers and make the most of your £5 off voucher with friends and family? Or have you tried one of the Taste Icons packets already? Let us know your favourite and thoughts in the comments below.
