Walker in hot water after elbow on Meaney

South Sydney star Cody Walker could be in hot water for dropping his elbow onto the back of Nick Meaney's head in Friday's 38-0 NRL win over Canterbury.

Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett said his five-eighth had taken his "angry pills" after Walker was involved in a couple of heated incidents that will be scrutinised by the match review committee.

The worst was his elbow to Meaney's head which happened in the first half as the young Bulldogs fullback was held in a tackle.

Replays showed Walker dropped onto Meaney's back as he attempted to get to his feet, with the Souths star appearing to drive his elbow into the fullback's head.

Mal Meninga told Fox Sports he believed the move was intentional and comes just a fortnight after Melbourne's Felise Kaufusi copped a two-week ban for a similar hit on Parramatta's Ryan Matterson.

"Absolutely (he's) in trouble. You can see that was deliberate," Meninga said.

"We talk about Felise Kaufusi and his two weeks suspended for a deliberate elbow to the head... I think he's in serious trouble."

The scorer of two tries, Walker also appeared to sparked a melee late in the second half when he flung Bulldogs halfback Kyle Flanagan to the ground after a particularly aggressive tackle.

Bennett said he did not see the incident with Meaney and refused to comment, however he acknowledged his star half was irked on Friday.

"I'll check the medication he's taking mate. There was obviously something going on there. He had the angry pills in today," Bennett said.

After the game Walker said he wasn't aware there was any incident involving Meaney, who finished the game with broken ribs after heavy contact from the Souths side.

"I can't remember that incident, but in any game you're trying to win a game of football and it's what happens on the field stays on the field I suppose," he said.

"We shook hands after the game and that's where it'll stay."

However, the club will be sweating on the charge sheet on Saturday morning with Souths to play Brisbane on Thursday night.
