Walker, Bernardo, Torres - Man City latest injury news and return dates

Only Ferran Torres is out injured for Manchester City, according to manager Pep Guardiola.

City are preparing to face Newcastle at St James' Park in the Premier League on Sunday, and Guardiola updated supporters on Friday that Torres was the only player who wouldn't be available.

Torres, who is linked with a transfer away from the club in January, is back at the City Football Academy for the latest stage of his recovery from a long-term injury, but is not yet ready to return.

And Guardiola's update means doubts over Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker are not serious, with Walker missing the Leeds win this week and Bernardo being replaced at half time as a precaution.

However, Walker was absent from training on Friday, throwing his participation at Newcastle in doubt once more.

This is the latest state of play when it comes to City's injury list:

Bernardo Silva

City's best player of the season so far was replaced at half time of City's demolition of Leeds as a precaution, with Guardiola saying after the match: "He had muscular niggles, didn’t feel comfortable, and after 3-0 (we were taking) no risk."

However, Bernardo was seen back in training this week, and Guardiola said everyone bar Torres would be ready to face Newcastle.

Expected return date: December 19

Kyle Walker

Walker missed the Leeds win for fitness reasons, but Guardiola's update would suggest he is fine to face Newcastle this weekend.

However, Walker was not part of the group seen training on Friday when City published a short video of the session so may be a doubt again for the trip North.

Possible return date: December 19

Ferran Torres

Winger Torres injured his foot on international duty in October and has not featured since. He has undergone treatment and City had said he would not be expected back until the new year.

Earlier this month, Torres posted an encouraging update as he published a picture of himself in City training gear kicking a ball at the CFA. He accompanied the post with the caption: 'Soon', indicating his recovery is progressing well.

Torres continues to be linked with a transfer to Barcelona, having told City he would be open to the move if it was possible.

Possible return date: January
