WalesOnline Property Awards 2019: Garden of the Year voting now open

A garden is seen by many as another room that belongs to the property, so surely it deserves the same care and attention as any of the internal spaces?

All the fantastic entries into the WalesOnline Property Awards 2019 Garden of the Year, sponsored by securahome, certainly think so.

Each garden entered is a credit to the owners, who have obviously dedicated themselves to creating their own personal sanctuary.

The three finalists have totally different gardens, proving that a garden can easily reflect your personality and how you want to use the space.

But which is your favourite outdoor space? Vote using the form at the bottom of this article. Here you will also find links to vote for your winner in the other four property categories.

Irene's garden

Irene Martin explains the history of her garden: "Forty six years ago when we were renovating the house, all the rubble and waste was thrown out onto the existing garden.

"It was raised high and a wall built to contain a lawn which I am surprised has flourished owing to the depth of earth it had to grow on. I can still feel the rubble when I fork it to prepare for the winter.

"The wonders of nature, you plant and beauty takes over with care and attention. You only get results with time and effort put into something which takes you away to another place.

"Every season has its own splendour in the garden. The spring brings new growth, the Summer rich in colour, Autumn is vibrant and the winter sparkles with frost and snow. I love my garden."

Deep's garden

Deep Khubchandani explains how his outdoor space makes him feel: "My back garden reflects the aspects of my life: water, food, health, friends and spirituality.

"The look, sound and feel of water is a key feature as it helps me de-stress and focus."

Simon's garden

Simon Rees has been a bit handy in his garden: "I built a “Cwtch” in the garden and it has totally transformed our relationship with our house. We Now spend more time outside than we do inside.

"I had no plans to work from, I just designed it and built it using Pinterest as inspiration.

"It’s still a work in progress but everyone loves it and we’re really proud of it."
