Wales women 15-29 Barbarians women: Hosts round off autumn campaign with defeat

Wales women finished their autumn campaign with a comprehensive 29-15 defeat to the Barbarians.

First-half scores from Charmaine McMenamin, Dyddgu Hywel, Lauren Harris, Jenny Murphy and Anna Caplice put the Baa-Baas out of reach in the first meeting between the two sides in the women's game.

The pick of the bunch was former Wales international Hywel's length of the field effort - stepping outside then in to run in a wonderful score from 80 metres out.

Wales picked up after the break and got their reward shortly after half-time.

Lively scrum-half Keira Bevan broke on the blindside off a scrum and fed winger Lisa Neumann to score in the corner before Bevan crossed for one herself 20 minutes later.

Wales got a third in an improved second-half display as replacement Alex Callender picked off a loose pass to race away but it was too little, too late.
