Wales begin their latest European Championship journey with a maiden qualifier against Slovakia at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 2016 semi-finalists rested most of their first-team regulars in Wrexham on Wednesday evening as Liverpool's Ben Woodburn notched a 92nd-minute winner in an unconvincing friendly victory over Trinidad and Tobago.
They now face an experienced Slovakia team that made a winning start to qualifying with a 2-0 win over Hungary earlier this week and will be looking to avenge their loss to Wales in their opening Euro 2016 clash in Bordeaux.
On that occasion, Gareth Bale and Hal Robson-Kanu notched either side of Ondrej Duda's equaliser to start an unforgettable quest that was eventually brought to an end by Portugal in the last four.
Those heroics came under the stewardship of Chris Coleman, while successor Ryan Giggs is still waiting to prove his own long-term managerial credentials after a fairly underwhelming first year at the helm.
