Wales beat England in Cardiff to win a Six Nations Triple Crown
(Picture: AFP via Getty Images)England’s ill-discipline proved costly in a Six Nations defeat by Wales at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Saturday evening.
Eddie Jones’ error-ridden side gave away three costly late penalties - taking their total for the match to 14 - and Cory Hill notched a last-gasp try in a 40-24 triumph for the hosts.
Wales had led 17-14 at half-time after two hugely controversial tries from Josh Adams and Liam Williams, but England pulled it back to 24-24 with 20 minutes left courtesy of scores from Anthony Watson and Ben Youngs, before a late collapse ensued.
A second defeat in three matches surely spells the end of defending champions England’s title hopes for 2021, but Wales claim a Triple Crown and remain on course for a Grand Slam with away matches against Italy and France to come next month.
