Wales star recalled to squad for Australia match as Cardiff hooker released

Wales have recalled hooker Elliot Dee to the autumn squad after he returned to action following his recovery from a neck injury.

The 27-year-old Dragons front-rower was initially named in Wayne Pivac's squad for this campaign but was released before the All Blacks clash due to a neck injury sustained against the Stormers in October.

But he is now back in the fold having made his return to action last Friday, in Dragons A’s starting line-up for the friendly against a Scarlets Development side. He played for 40 minutes and looked in fine form.

As a result, Cardiff Rugby hooker Kirby Myhill - who made his debut against New Zealand - has returned to his region.

With Ken Owens ruled out, it will be welcome news for Pivac, who looks likely to use Dee for the autumn finale against Australia on Saturday.

Pivac has also opted to retain the services of Bradley Roberts ahead of Myhill.
