Wales star Jamie Roberts and fiancée Nicole Ramson announce birth of second child and sweet name

Jamie Roberts and his fiancée Nicole Ramson have announced the birth of their second child.

The couple, who recently relocated to Australia to be closer to Nicole's family, posted a picture on Instagram revealing the happy news.

Taken at Northern Beaches Hospital in the region of Sydney, the snap includes their son Tom and the name they have chosen for their daughter.

The caption read: "Welcoming Elodie May Roberts to the world. Tom’s little sister making us proud parents for the second time in 13 months. Thanks to the brilliant staff at The Northern Beaches Hospital for your care. @nicoleramson bossed it as per."

Many of Roberts' former team-mates sent on their best wishes, with George North, Rhys Webb, Josh Turnbull and Mike Brown, among others, congratulating the couple.

It has been a momentous few months for Roberts and Nicole, who left south Wales for a new life Down Under.

Roberts joined Super Rugby outfit NSW Waratahs on the field and he explained why he was making the move when he spoke in January.

“Having fallen in love with an Australian girl, I guess I knew my life was going to take me to Sydney at some point,” he explained earlier this year in an interview with WalesOnline. You can read it in full here.

“Nicole has followed me around for the last five or six years with rugby.

“It was a question of when, not if, I was going to end up in Australia. It’s something we have been speaking about for a while.

“I had put out feelers over there, testing the water, but we were talking about a year or so down the line.

“Then I got a message just before Christmas asking me if it was feasible to do it at the end of January because the Waratahs have had a couple of season-ending injuries in the midfield.”
