Wales star and ex-Cardiff City man Aaron Ramsey rejects Newcastle United as Man Utd's Benoit Badiashile decision hands Chelsea boost — transfer rumours

Here's the latest Premier League transfer news and rumours for Thursday, August 27.

Ramsey turns down Newcastle chance

Aaron Ramsey has turned down the chance to join Newcastle United from Juventus, according to reports.

The Wales international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A giants this summer, with Manchester United among the clubs linked with the 29-year-old.

Journalist Nicolò Schira claims Newcastle showed an interest in Ramsey earlier this month and opened talks with Juventus over a potential swoop for the 60-cap international.

However, it's claimed Ramsey rejected the bid.

"Newcastle have shown interest for Aaron Ramsey last week," Schira wrote on Twitter.

"Magpies have opened talks with Juventus to sign the welsh midfielder, but Ramsey has rejected the bid."

Ramsey joined the Turin-based outfit last summer on a free transfer following his departure from Arsenal.

The attacker - who has been included in the Wales squad for the upcoming Nations League matches with Finland and Bulgaria - signed a four-year contract with the Italians, meaning he still has three years left to run on his current deal.

United’s Badiashile decision

Manchester United have opted against pursuing their interest in Benoit Badiashile any further.

United have reportedly seen a £22m bid for the Monaco defender rejected with the Ligue 1 side keen to keep the 19-year-old.

The Daily Mail report they will not pursue the player further, despite some impressive form for Monaco.

It hands Chelsea a boost, with the Blues also heavily linked with a move for the French under-19 international.

Zaha determined to leave

The Guardian report that Wilfried Zaha is determined to leave Crystal Palace this summer.

Zaha has long been keen for a new challenge and there is rumoured interest in him from Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.

Yet no formal offer has yet been made for the 27-year-old, who has been subject to interest from Arsenal and Everton in the past.

That has left the attacker willing to bide his time in order to get a move away from Selhurst Park with the transfer window set to run until September.

Blues clinch fifth summer signing

Chelsea have made Malang Sarr their fifth signing of the summer.

The defender was a free agent after his contract with French outfit Nice expired in the summer.

And it has been confirmed that he has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Frank Lampard's side.

As part of the announcement, Chelsea revealed that Sarr would be sent out on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign.

Sarr made 119 appearances and scored three goals during his time at Nice.
