Wales star Aaron Ramsey has donated £10,000 to support NHS staff.
A Just Giving page has been set up to support Welsh NHS staff as they work in extraordinary circumstances during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Juventus midfielder made the generous donation towards Cardiff and Vale Health Charity's Spread the Love campaign - ensuring they surpassed their target of £10,000 .
"We're absolutely blown away to announce a very generous donation from Wales & @juventusfc football star @aaronramsey to our #spreadthelove campaign for our staff during #COVID19," wrote Cardiff and Vale Health Charity in a tweet thanking the former Cardiff City midfielder.
"A huge thank you to Aaron, you're our star!"
Ramsey himself added a note praising the work of NHS staff alongside his donation.
"We really appreciate all of your hard work, AR," wrote Ramsey.
The midfielder had posted a picture on Instagram of himself taking part in the 'clap for carers' initiative on Thursday night, with the caption 'Applaud our NHS tonight."
