Wales Six Nations injury update as Dan Biggar winning fitness race for France clash

Wales pivot Dan Biggar is continuing to pass his return to play protocols as he looks to prove his fitness to face France this weekend.

The 81-cap fly-half failed a head injury assessment after a collision with Robbie Henshaw during the defeat to Ireland nine days ago.

It was his third concussion in five months, having suffered two at the Rugby World Cup in Japan last autumn.

Since the Aviva Stadium clash, Biggar has been going through the graduated return to play protocols and is still on track to face Les Bleus in Cardiff this weekend.

“He’s good. He’s taking part in full training,” said Wales forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys.

“He’s hopefully going to carry on passing all those protocols. Fingers crossed he could be ready.”

There is also positive news on Josh Adams, who limped out of the Dublin defeat with a hip problem. He has returned to full training and is set to face France.

However, Cory Hill and Elliot Dee are yet to return to training and are continuing their rehabilitation with the medics. Both are yet to play a part in this year’s Six Nations Championship.

Elsewhere, Hallam Amos has been called into the Wales squad as a replacement for the injured Owen Lane.
