Wales' Six Nations 2020 tickets have just gone on sale: This is how to get them and how much they cost

Tickets to see Wales in action during the 2020 Six Nations have gone on sale today.

Wales welcome Scotland, Italy and France to the Principality Stadium in 2020 as they look to defend the title following a Grand Slam this year, and the campaign will be the first under new coach Wayne Pivac.

The tickets went on sale at 11am today (September 27).

Top-priced tickets for Wales' clashes with Scotland and France have passed the £100-marker for the first time, with the cost of top-end tickets for those games being set at a whopping £105. That is a £10 increase from the last time the Scots and Les Bleus visited Cardiff during the Six Nations, when the most expensive tickets were £95.

But, priority and advance ticket sales, for the likes of member clubs, debenture holders and the official WRU supporters club, means middle tier tickets and the two lowest price categories for both Scotland and France have already sold out, leaving tickets at £90, £95 and £105 to watch Les Blues. For the Scotland game, all top-priced tickets have also sold out, leaving only £90 and £95 categories.

Tickets in the £90 category include those with access to the stadium's permanent 4,200-capacity alcohol-free zone.

Prices for both of these matches in 2020 had been set at £40, £65, £90, £95 and £105, with the lowest category having been frozen at this price since 2017.

The price bandings to see Wales take on Italy in February remain unchanged from 2018, the last time Wales hosted these three opponents. Under-16s can enter for £20, with with general prices ranging from £30, £50, £60, £65 and £75.

Pivac will have one game to find his feet before the Six Nations, with Wales facing a Warren Gatland-coached Barbarians on November 30 in Cardiff. That game – a double-header at the 73,931-capacity venue which also sees Wales Women take on Barbarian opposition – has seen more than 35,000 tickets snapped up already.

Tickets to see the BaaBaas are still available, starting at £10 per head for under 16s and £30 for adults.

A WRU spokesperson said: "The best place to get hold of a ticket for the Barbarians game in November or for any of the home Six Nations matches at Principality Stadium in 2020 is from a WRU member club near you.

"Tickets are in high demand, the appetite for Welsh rugby in Cardiff is as strong as it has ever been and with a new coaching team in place and an intense curiosity about what the future will hold for Wales, the 2020 Guinness Six Nations Championship is going to sell fast.

"We would encourage all supporters to act quickly and pick up tickets as soon as they can to any of these matches, to avoid disappointment, but to also always ensure that they buy from official sources – member clubs, official WRU partners or directly from us online, at our ticket office or via our dedicated hotline number – with all proceeds from ticket sales fed directly back into the game at all levels."

It comes after top-priced tickets for this year's victories over England and Ireland during the tournament, aiding Wales on their way to a Grand Slam, were the most expensive in Welsh rugby history - costing £110. That was a £10 increase on the most expensive England ticket for the equivalent fixture in 2017, when the WRU introduced its first ever £100 ticket.

What are Wales' home fixtures after the World Cup?

Wales v Barbarian FC: Saturday, November 30, 2019, 2.45pm (Wales Women v Barbarians Women kicking off at 11.45am)
