Wales set for mouthwatering Cardiff clash with World Cup winners South Africa - reports

World champions South Africa could be heading to Cardiff for a November 28 Principality Stadium clash with Wales.

The Welsh Rugby Union have yet to announce their autumn schedule for Wayne Pivac's side in 2020 but the 'Boks have announced tour dates with Italy on November 7, Ireland a week after and then France in Paris seven days on again.

However, reports suggest the World Cup winners are also set to include a fourth match to their itinerary for the end of the month... with Wales the likely opponents.

South Africa's media outlet News24 quote SA Rugby’s communications boss Andy Colquhoun giving a cagey "always possible, but nothing confirmed yet" response when asked about the likelihood of meeting Wales.

A Springbok clash with England is out of the equation on that date as Eddie Jones' men are due to host Australia.

So it could give Wales a chance to avenge a19-16 defeat at the hands of the Springboks in their World Cup semi-final bruiser at the Yokohama Stadium in October.

Wales traditionally have a four-Test autumn programme and a meeting with South Africa would be a mouth-watering prospect given their dismantling of Eddie Jones' England side in the final in Yokohama last month.

It would guarantee a full house at the Principality Stadium and even more so given Wales' recent record against South Africa in Cardiff that has seen the hosts win their last four encounters.
