Wales Rugby World Cup star to make long-awaited Cardiff Blues debut in crucial Challenge Cup clash

Josh Adams will make his Cardiff Blues debut this weekend as the region host Pau at the Arms Park.

John Mulvihill has made eight changes for the crucial European Challenge Cup encounter at Cardiff Arms Park with five Wales internationals coming into the starting line-up - including World Cup top try-scorer Adams.

Wales internationals Tomos Williams, Jarrod Evans and Owen Lane all return to the back-line, while Ben Thomas is handed his first European start at inside centre.

In the pack, Olly Robinson returns from injury while Will Boyde is handed the captaincy.

“It is great to have some of our Wales internationals back this week, particularly Tomos Williams and Josh Adams, who make their first appearances of the season," said Mulvihill.

“Josh enjoyed a brilliant World Cup and we are looking forward to seeing him continue that form in a blue jersey. They have all come in with a spring in their step and brought further confidence to the group."

A win is required to keep their hopes of progressing alive, after being beaten by Leicester Tigers in Cardiff last time out.
