Wales quarantine rules: Thailand and Gibraltar added to safe list

People traveling back to Wales from Gibraltar and Thailand will no longer have to self-isolate for two weeks from the weekend.

The Welsh Government has reviewed its so-called 'safe list' of countries where people are exempt from needing to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving in Wales.

From Saturday at 4am people arriving back from Thailand and Gibraltar will no longer be required to self-isolate. However anyone coming into Wales from Guadeloupe or Slovenia will have to enter a 14-day period of isolation.

It was decided that Guadeloupe and Slovenia will be removed from the list of exempt countries and territories and that Gibraltar and Thailand will be added to this list.

This means that people coming back to Wales from Guadeloupe and Slovenia will have to complete a passenger locator form and then isolate for two weeks.

The list of countries where travellers are exempt from isolation on arrival to Wales has been under review since July 10 and continues to be assessed each week by the Welsh Government.
