Wales matchwinner Neco Williams and boss Ryan Giggs target Wembley triumph over old enemy England next

Matchwinner Neco Williams and boss Ryan Giggs believe Wales can march on Wembley next month and shock Gareth Southgate's England.

Giggs' side face the 2018 World Cup semi-finalists in a friendly in the English capital on October 8, ahead of their away Nations League double header against Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria.

Wales have not beaten the Three Lions since Mark Hughes struck the only goal of the game as the hosts won 1-0 in Wrexham in May 1984.

But Williams - who headed home his first international goal to earn Wales a last-gasp victory over Bulgaria at Cardiff City Stadium - believes the Dragons are more than capable of doing the business against Harry Kane and Co.

"Next month we've got England and that's going to be a great game," he said.

"With the quality we have in this team we're going to prove we're capable of beating them.

"I'm sure it's going to be a great game. All the boys are excited and can't wait for the game."

Wales' triumph over Bulgaria means they are unbeaten in eight matches, with Giggs' men winning their last four on the spin without conceding a goal.

And Giggs shares Williams' confidence that they can go to Wembley in confident manner next month.

When asked if he believes he has a side capable of beating England, Giggs responded: "Yeah. We've got a lot of quality.

"England have shown what a quality team they are with strength-in-depth, but we're getting there as well, with the strength-in-depth especially.

"We'll go into every game thinking we've got a chance."

Wales currently sit at the top of group four in League B of the Nations League following back-to-back wins against Finland and Bulgaria.
