Wales manager Ryan Giggs offers verdict on reported England interest in Neco Williams

Wales manager Ryan Giggs admits he is worried by interest from England regarding Liverpool full-back Neco Williams.

Williams has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Jurgen Klopp and recent reports have suggested the Three Lions are aware of the progress being made by the full-back.

Wales face Austria and the United States of America in friendly matches during March and Giggs remained coy on the selection of Williams.

"Neco has come through the system," the former Manchester United midfielder said.

"You're always worried when big countries come in and (there are) different permutations, perhaps outside noise.

"But the likes of Paul Bodin, Rob Edwards, Rob Page [Wales youth coaches] have enjoyed working with him and he loves playing for Wales. He's a fantastic player, but we'll have to wait and see until March.

"This is the last chance for me to get to see these players I've maybe not seen a lot of."

Senior friendlies are not deemed sufficient by FIFA to tie a player to a nation.

Wales will take part in this summer's European Championships.
