Wales' injury crisis seems set to get worse with at least one front-line player likely to miss the final autumn clash with Australia next week.
After Tomas Francis pulled out hours before kick-off with concussion, Josh Adams joined him as a late withdrawal with a calf injury suffered during the warm-up.
Then, during the match against Fiji, WillGriff John and Will Rowlands both departed with head injuries.
And Wales coach Wayne Pivac admitted it seems unlikely all of them, particularly the latter two, will recover in time for the clash with the Wallabies next week.
“Josh felt something in his leg in the warm-up," said Pivac afterwards. "He wanted to start the game and see how it went but we certainly weren’t going to allow that to happen.
"He was worried about letting his team-mates down. He’s such a good guy, he was putting the team before himself. The medical team and myself made that call shortly before kick-off.
"It was a late change in the changing room but these things can happen and you just have to adapt. Hopefully that won’t keep him out for too long. That was precautionary.
"We had a couple of head knocks, WillGriff John and Will Rowlands. With a six-day turnaround, we’ll have to see how they are tomorrow. It could be we dig a bit deeper into the squad.”
When pressed on who would be fit for next weekend, Pivac was hopeful about the absent Aaron Wainwright, who suffered a knock to his shoulder against South Africa last weekend, and tight-head prop Francis.
"The two HIAs (John and Rowlands). Look, it has been done before, the six-day turnaround, but not too often so we’d have to say they are in doubt.
"Aaron Wainwright should be good for next week.
"As it happened on Friday, Tomas Francis is already a couple of days into the protocols and has passed those so far so he’s currently on track."
Were both Francis and John to miss out, it would leave Pivac searching for a replacement tight-head - with Dillon Lewis the only option currently in the squad.
