Wales hit by fresh blow as Aaron Ramsey pulls out of looming three games with thigh injury

Injured Wales star Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out of the upcoming international matches.

The Juventus midfielder limped out of his side's Champions League win over Ferencvaros on Wednesday night with a thigh problem, but was nevertheless named in the 29-man Wales squad on Thursday morning.

However, he has officially withdrawn, following the results of a scan with the Turin club.

The news deals another blow to an international camp that has already been thrown into turmoil following the arrest of manager Ryan Giggs.

Rob Page has been placed in temporary charge for the trio of games against the USA, Ireland and Finland, which start a week today.

In a statement, Juventus said Ramsey has a 'low-grade injury to his right thigh.'.

It goes on: "In 10 days it will be re-evaluated again."

Wales take on the USA at the Liberty Stadium on November 12, before beginning a UEFA Nations League double-header with Ireland at the Cardiff City Stadium three days after.

They will then finish the international break on November 18 at the same venue, where they meet Finland.

It's just the latest setback for Ramsey, who's injury troubles have restricted him to just two international starts in the last two years.

Nevertheless, he's proven to be something of a trusted player for Juve boss Andrea Pirlo, having made five starts so far this season.
