Wales forward signs new deal with Welsh region

The Dragons feel they have been handed another boost after Welsh prop Aaron Jarvis put pen to paper on a new deal with the Gwent region.

The vastly experienced forward agreed to a new contract just days after Ross Moriarty chose to remain with the Rodney Parade outfit.

Dragons boss Dean Ryan said Jarvis "is determined to continue to produce his best rugby to help the Dragons move forward in the coming years.”

Jarvis, capped 18 times by Wales, follows a number of other senior Dragons players to commit their futures to the region by signing new contracts, including Moriarty, Ollie Griffiths and Jordan Williams.

Announcing the news on the Dragons' official website, Director of Rugby Ryan said: "Aaron is a vastly experienced player for us who brings great composure on the field and is helping us to develop our young front row talents."

Jarvis joined Dragons on a two-year contract in 2018, having previously played for the Ospreys, Bath and French Top14 side Clermont Auvergne, who he won the title with.

His 18 Wales included three matches at the 2015 Rugby World Cup and he can play either side of the scrum.

“I’m really happy to be re-signing with the Dragons,” said Jarvis. “It’s a really positive time to be with the region, we’re working hard and enjoying our rugby with Dean in charge.

“This season we have proved we’re moving in the right direction and I can’t wait to get back playing at Rodney Parade.”
