Wales draft Hallam Amos into Six Nations squad as positive Josh Adams injury update issued

Hallam Amos has been called into the Wales squad as a replacement for the injured Owen Lane.

World Cup try-scorer Amos has been sidelined himself for the past month due to ankle ligament damage.

But he returned to action on the wing for Cardiff Blues against Connacht in Galway at the weekend and came through his comeback unscathed.

Now he has been drafted into Wayne Pivac’s Six Nations group ahead of Saturday’s showdown with France at the Principality Stadium.

He takes the place of fellow Blues back three man Lane, who was released earlier in the campaign after tearing his hamstring.

Lane was not replaced at the time, but with Amos back to fitness, Wales have now moved to bolster their resources.

The 22-cap Amos, who joined the Blues from the Dragons last summer, can cover both wing and full-back. He has six Test tries to his name, including a touchdown against New Zealand at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, winger Josh Adams is fit and back in full training having been forced off with a hip problem during the defeat to Ireland in Dublin.

Wales are holding a press conference at 1pm - you can follow live updates here.
